THAT PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Well that was some election. Wow, that election count was something else. It took forever and was completely chaotic with each state operating different systems and orders in counting the votes. As the world looked on it was total confusion. America this is not a good look!
For a country that sees itself as the model democracy, the high tech giant and world leader it took inefficiency and confusion to new levels. Surely it is time for Federal Regulations to standardize the method of counting the votes in any Presidential electoral contest.
I congratulate Joe Biden and wish him every success in the huge task he has before him in trying to unite a country that is severely divided. It will not be an easy task.
Congratulations also to Kamala Harris who as Vice President becomes both the first women and female of colour to hold this office. Irrespective of what happens in the years ahead she is in poll position to become the first female President of the USA.
So I am happy I called it pretty much spot on, the narrowest of victories for Joe Biden and the end of the Trump era in the White House.
All that’s needed now is for Donald Trump to get over his defeat, muster some decency and dignity and congratulate his successor wishing him well in the process.
Sadly that is not looking likely as I write this piece, which perhaps is one of the main reasons he lost in the first place. Humility and decency was so regularly absent in his behaviour.
I wish the USA every success because that also benefits us here in Scotland much more than most folk realise.
