This week’s discussion deals with the Alba Conference Agenda in the first section then we go on to discuss the Green Deal, can the SNP be rescued from disaster, those changes with the NEC and Mike Russell’s horse box. Lot’s of fun and straight talking.

I am, as always

Unfortunately a number of pro Indy sites have turned out to be merely pro SNP sites and have blocked a number of bloggers, including myself. We have managed to frustrate these efforts to close us down through our readers sharing our articles and building our audience. In addition many have taken out free direct subscriptions. I very much appreciate this support.

  1. If there’s one thing I know about the science of sustainability, it’s that it requires us to engage honestly with the world in a manner that accurately reflects material things, as well as acknowledging the social production of the material world. Which means we need our analytical frameworks to be grounded in scientifically robust theory that is coherent and compatible with other tested and proven analytical frameworks. In theory, the law is an analytical framework used to establish truth and justice.

If there’s one thing I know about legal rights, it’s that you can’t make effective claims to them without first possessing a legally defensible identity.

If there’s one thing I know about International law, it’s that women have the legal right to define their legal identity autonomously of the will of man. Which they have long done in a manner that does not include biological males. Peoples have a similar right to define their national identity autonomously of outside intervention, as well as the “Right to Development”.

If there’s one thing I know about children’s rights, it’s that they can’t be separated from women’s rights.

If there’s one thing I know about the safeguarding of children, it’s that it isn’t happening if your policy does not reflect the developmental and cognitive sciences. Which have discovered clear age and sex differences in the development of Theory of Mind in children. Our Theory of Mind enables us to comprehend the intention of others.

If there’s one thing I know about democracy, it’s that it doesn’t exist if government abuses the law in a manner that denies the Theory of Evolution, or diminishes women’s access to the public domain. This is what the existing fabric of equalities law is intended to prevent, by providing safeguards against the physical and legal harm that women experience as a result of possessing a female biology. This female biology supports a different nervous system and corresponding brain architecture to that of male biology, with resulting female modes of perception, cognition, emotion, and behaviour. These can not be “authentically” projected into through male biology.

If there’s one thing I know about human biology, it’s that it’s not possible to change the sex you are born into. Not through unethical medical intervention. Nor by legally empowering the “imaginative projection” of the clinically disorder (and sundry fetishists). All that does is embed material fantasy into law, thereby destroying the law’s potential for universal comprehension and acceptance. You will cause serious harm to both the individual and to democracy if you insist that humans are not part of nature, and so ultimately subject to Natural law. Which is exactly what the principle of Parliamentary sovereignty demands of Scots, in order to be British.
