MY FIRST NOMINATION

MY FIRST NOMINATION

I am pleased to report that the man I see as the ideal co Convenor of the new Liberation Committee has agreed to be nominated.

He is of course Dr Alf Baird, the author of the book Doun Hauden, that sets out in detail how Scotland has been operated as a colony for the past few centuries.

He has the remarkable ability to explain these complex methods in layman terms and as you read his book or listen to him explain the case verbally, if you are anything like me, the scales fall off and you realise all the same examples from your own life experiences.

This is hugely important because one of the largest roles that Liberation must overcome is educating the Scottish people about our real status and more importantly explaining the best route to bring it to an end in the quickest possible way.

Alf is also a very good and interesting public speaker and is experienced in providing detailed evidence and testimony to boardrooms and Parliaments. When we get in front of the United Nations key will be the quality of our presentation. It needs to be punchy, credible and convincing. The key to that is making it easily understood. Alf has that gift in spades.

Of course everyone elected to the committee will have a crucial role to play and therefore it must work effectively as a team. Again Alf is very much a team player, he has a very good and productive relationship with Sara Salyers so that close cooperation with Salvo that I have enjoyed while being the interim convenor of Liberation will continue.

My own plans? Well I hope to win one of the ten ordinary member places. I feel I still have a lot to contribute but a combination of age and medical mobility restrictions make it important to get a younger team in place to maintain the progress already secured. My initial task was to convene the interim committee to get us to the point where we had the thousands of members to make this election a meaningful contest and to put the permanent infrastructure in place that can continue to grow and will be regarded as the credible and representative body that will convince the UN that Scotland now has a legitimate National Liberation Movement. Now thanks to all the interim Committee. Members for all their efforts., we are now at that stage.

I am, as always

  2. Alf will obviously have my vote. Good to see such a strong candidate step forward. It highlights the paucity of talent in our Political Parties who appear consumed with troughing.

  3. Great choice. Just a pity some of us are getting on a little so I agree that we need some younger but Independence committed people.

  4. Our Alfred The Great is THE man for the job . Nae doot aboot it . For all the reasons Iain gives + the fact of his unbreakable commitment to Independence and clarity of thought on how to achieve it : none of this pusillanimous pandering to Brit State sanction nor Nu SNP ” can we have a S30 please , Sir ” wibble-wobble from this man . He knows , as we do , the Independence OF Scotland will only be realised IN Scotland .

It won’t be cakes that get burned ; it will be the Treaty Of Union .

    1. Another advantage of choosing Alf is that he can speak and write in Scots, which would probably annoy our colonial masters, should he chose to do so. That would prove beyond doubt that someone can speak and write intelligently and coherently in a language other than the one they have foisted on us over the last 150 years or so! (1872 Scottish Education Act – ‘All Education in Scotland shall take place in English.’)

  6. The perfect choice! Thank you Alf, for being so willing to take on the role of (Co) Convener! You’ll certainly have my vote!

I understand your reasons for choosing to being an ordinary member,. Iain & again, I think you’ll be an great choice!

After all crazy schemes of Scotgov, this comes as a relief today, that there are still adults in the country with common sense, and a focused wish for Scotland to make her own choices & decisions! Well done, Iain & Alf! Thank you, both! 🙂

  7. I am extremely pleased that Alf has accepted nomination as Co-chair of the Liberation Scotland Committee. We are off to a terrific start and it will encourage others to apply for membership of the Committee.

The work to be undertaken by the Committee will be new to many but will help shape the future for our nation and for our children. The contribution they are going to make will be something that our children can speak of with pride.

  8. A question on nominating someone. The email we were sent on 17th March was, I thought, about how to apply for a role oneself. Does it also include nomination forms?

    1. No it does not but people can nominate others but they must first get the person’s permission first to confirm they are happy to stand in the election. The person nominated must complete the application form themselves.

      1. Are existing Core committee members willing to be nominated, do you know? Unless one knows people personally it is difficult to ask if they are willing.

  12. Thanks for nominating Alf , Iain, and Alf thanks for accepting Iain’s nomination, I could not imagine anyone being more tailored to the position , his ongoing multiple exposures of the colonial situation which we have suffered is awakening many more people to how USELESS and INEFFECTUAL our politicians have been for 300+years, thanks also to Sara and the SALVO,Liberation.Scot,SSRG teams for EXPOSING the lies and theft of our resources and freedoms by a duplicitous rancorous neighbour

  13. An erudite doughty fighter for independence Mr Baird is a very welcome nomination.

Having contributed much to expose and educate our fellow citizens about how Scotland is caught in a colonial trap that seeks to crush the life out of Scotland and wipe it’s history from the history books, Mr Baird has much more to give.

But we, and I mean every one of us, we all have our part to play in getting the yolk of colonialism removed from our people. We need to go where the SNP failed to go, and together we can go to the destination we all desire.
