SALVO ACTS ON FREEPORTS

February 2024

To whom it may concern,

This letter represents formal notice that the proposed Green Freeports and Special Economic Zones, (including the Inverness & Cromarty Firth Greenport and the Forth Greenport), depend on the negotiation of assets, rights and revenues which, in our opinion, are not lawfully within the territorial jurisdiction of the UK state or its executive bodies.Scotland entered a political and economic not a territorial union. It remains in law a sovereign territorial nation.

There is no ‘UK Crown’. The addition of Scotland to the English Crown is without legal foundation obviating ‘UK’territorial authority in Scotland. The territorial assets of the extant Scottish Crown remain the exclusive property of the nation of Scotland. We submit that the negotiation of sale, lease or transfer of control and sovereignty over these assets through any third party, English Crown or ‘UK’ government, therefore, is unlawful. (See Summary of Grounds for Rescission) The following provisions of law apply regarding territorial assets of the Scottish Crown:

Nemo dat quod non habet: You cannot ‘give’, (sell or lease), what you do not own, (nor can you buy from a non-owner).

“Violation of the rights of peoples and nations to sovereignty over their natural wealth and resources is contrary to the spirit and principles of the Charter of the United Nations”. (PP 7, Declaration on Permanent Sovereignty over Natural Resources, General Assembly resolution 1803 (XVII) of 14 December 1962)

Liberation and/or its affiliates intends to challenge the sale, license or lease of these territorial assets and the unlawful surrender of Scottish Crown sovereignty to the fullest extent possible. You are hereby advised that a successful challenge will result in the rescission of all such contracts and agreements. This notice vitiates any future action founded on the bona fide principle for the right to continued title, continued license provisions or restitution.

MY COMMENTS

This public notice is being sent by Salvo to the First Minister and to every MSP and MP in Scotland as well as those companies and individuals already identified as being involved in the establishing of the two proposed Freeport’s in Scotland.

The intention is to advise those considering investment that the above represents a “risk” not previously advised and as it could, in time, result in a potential loss of any such investment, it should be considered seriously as this formal notice serves to establish that prior notice has been delivered.

As Salvo would like this notice being read by as many people in Scotland as possible, Salvo has asked if it can be shared as widely as possible.

I am, as always

YOURS FOR SCOTLAND.

  1. Local elected representatives have been invited to every meeting. To the best of my knowledge, none so far have accepted the invitation.

Labour’s albatross? PFI is perhaps the biggest, though there is fierce competition for that title.

Freeports will vie with ferries to claim that title for the SNP; never forget that Kate Forbes was delighted to work with Michael Gove to enable the procurement of vast tracts of Scotland’s land for the betterment of money mens’ bank balances.

Congratulations to the members of the Salvo Freeports campaign. They have worked tirelessly in recent months to raise public awareness of the reality of ‘Free’ports.

    1. Kate Forbes? Yet another agent of the forces who seek ‘tae keep Scotland in its place’! Forbes association with the British-American Project should be warning enough that Scotland’s interests are not at the forefront of HER priorities.

    2. Annie, a Tory councillor who sits on Fife Council attended the Dunfermline meeting. He said that he knew nothing about Freeports but he is now collaborating with a member of the Freeport team to gather information and share with his fellow councillors. A small but significant result in helping to educate people.
It seems as if elected representatives do not understand that they, too, will be negatively impacted by these freeports.

      1. Good morning Anne, I genuinely hope that ‘collaborating’ with a member of the Freeport team was a Freudian slip on the part of that Tory councillor. Vested interests will undoubtedly seek out ‘councillors’ support in favour of this project.

It helps not one jot that a former SNP Finance Minister (FORBES) ‘collaborated’ with a Westminster Tory Government minister in laying the groundwork for Freeports in Scotland with no, absolutely NO, prior consultation with her constituents or the wider Scottish electorate!

I have stated it previously and will do so now, FORBES is TOXIC and does not represent the aspirations of those who seek an Independent Scotland!!

Haud forrit SALVO, #End The Union!!

    3. Great news and congratulations to Salvo for standig up for Scotland iun a way thet our useless political parties seem unable to do. pperhaps if ALBA or ISP wereable to give support to this initiative, it would be strnethened, I see today figures suggesting the MSP Ash Regan is in a good podition to take a seat in Holyrood as a List member for ALBA, i hope this will happen and that she will continue in that capacity to show up the hollow claims of out SNP and Geen MSPs.

  2. Excellent on a number of fronts:

    1. Advises Humza and his chums that these proposed actions are ultra vires and they are betraying the Scottish people if they attempt to proceed.
    2. Lays down a marker that these are sovereign Scottish territories and that, come the return of Scotland’s independent statehood when we #EndTheUnion, these will be considered and treated as such.
    3. Following on from 2 any potential investors have been warned that these territories are rightfully owned by the people of Scotland and will be taken back under the Scottish Crown without compensation (and there may be reparations).

  3. Excellent. Glad a marker has been put down, they can’t say that they weren’t warned. I’m sick of the Scottish government selling off Scotland for buttons to neoliberal globalists. God know we expect it of Westminster but the Green-SNP government (I’ve put the apparent bosses first!) are supposed to be pro Scottish not selling off the family silver (to quote a Tory former PM who was probably to the left of today’s Labour party!)

  4. Short, sharp and to the point. Bravo. Whatever you think of George Galloway, the Rochdale result proves the adage, “one person can be a moral majority when that person stands for truth and goodness”.

Salvo stands on historic truth and justice, and are many! Although not party political, at GE2024 an elected majority of independents, ISP, Alba who support the principles of salvo.scot could be a game-changer, politically at least.

  5. The blatant illegality of all things “British” is worthy of a concerted campaign of resistance in itself amongst the Scottish population. I for one, would be more than happy to plaster my town of residence with say: A7 size, Salvo logoed declarations to that effect at all points e.g. bus stops, shelters, hoardings, lamp posts, and anywhere else where people are forced to congregate or pass by. A solution of sugar and water is an effective, ersatz adhesive, I’m told.

it’s a start, lots to do, but it will send a clear message.

  7. This is the result of an enormous amount of work by everyone at Salvo and especially the Freeports Campaign Team and Salvo’s Research Team. It has been a long time coming to this stage but as people will know, Salvo had to ensure validity and legality before making this public.

However, it is just one of a number of initiatives being prepared by Salvo that will change the political, social and cultural landscape in Scotland, just as they have changed the language that we are now using on a daily basis.

It has been obvious to me and so many others that we have been let down, some would say betrayed, by our elected representatives both at Holyrood and Westminster. It is now time for the people of Scotland to use the sovereignty that was the result of centuries of development to restrict the power that monarchs and parliaments held over them.

Iain’s final comment – ‘As Salvo would like this notice being read by as many people in Scotland as possible, Salvo has asked if it can be shared as widely as possible.’ is absolutely vital and lets the people know that they are not powerless to change their lives at every level.

    1. Possibly a big ask, considering how much work and planning must have gone into this initiative, but might it be possible to use similar arguments to save the Grangemouth Oil Refinery, as it is a Scottish asset and an essenetial one for our Future prosperity?

On what grounds does the current owner, INEOS, own the site and control whatt happens there. Can any local planning rules prevernt the planned closure of the only oil refinery in Scotland?

  8. Brilliant news, well done Sara, Iain and all the hard working teams working for Scotlands benefit.

As I have said on many ocassions, you can’t sell what is yours to own. Not the SNPs gift tae gie away.

  9. Yes, says it all, and 100% accurate. We are being fleeced, shafted, cheated, robbed every day of our existence in the Union . Well done, SALVO.

  10. Well done this is excellent, surely this “Scottish Sovereignty” can be used elsewhere to protect other Scottish assets.

  11. That is fantastic, thank you to the Salvo team. We need to get the word out about Salvo as someone suggested above. We have lots of YES groups with not a lot of direction, wouldn’t the publicising of the salvo website and the information on it, be a great purpose for the yes groups? All YES supporters need to get on the fabulous new IndyApp and let’s start using it.

    1. Thanks Colette and great to see ISP getting involved in this and can I ask if it might also be applicable to the Grangemouth Oil Refinery, sheduled for closure against the wishes of the people of Scotland? if so, that might well increase pupport for your party.

      1. Considering what we saw this evening of Sunak’s visit to the colony, he is intent on handing out oil licences as fast as he can to help shore up the failing economy. Not that Scotland will see any benefit from those licences.

It is possible that a similar treatment for those will shake up the process. It would be great to watch them squirm as we turn off the tap to the UK Treasury.
