FOLK ARE CATCHING ON TO THE TRUE POSITION.

Very good FB post:

Bruce Moglia summarises impressively:

How does one make a fundamental part of an international treaty that happened over three hundred years ago and was ratified by yourself disappear in a flash? It’s easy if you’re an avid reader of a children’s books on sorcery, or perhaps a judge in England’s Supreme Court. The magic spell has five words – England has sovereignty over Scotland. It also goes without saying that it’s absolute balderdash, and merely a figment of someone’s imagination without an iota of evidence to support it. It might be wishful thinking on someone’s part, and others may even believe it, but it’s all stuff and nonsense. A de facto English Parliament and a de facto English government do not have the sovereignty they think or are told they have.

There’s only one thing that holds Scotland in perfidious Albion’s corrupt grasping embrace, and that’s the Parliamentary Union of 1707 which just happens to be an international treaty, and as such is beyond the competence of any English court. As the English historian Conrad Russell put it, “The Scots got their recognition as a separate sovereign state, both from the form of the union of 1707 as an international treaty, and from the survival of Scots law and the Scottish church. It is that claim that Scotland is a sovereign nation state which is reasserted whenever the English forget that 1707 was not a “perfect union” and has recently been repeated in the Claim of Right. Scotland in accepting the Union in 1707 remained a nation and as a result any sovereignty in the British parliament could not be national sovereignty. This has always been hard for the English to understand.”

So, the spell has been broken, along with a treaty, a practice England has built an invidious international reputation for, when a fundamental part of the treaty of union containing Scotland’s Claim of Right with its popular sovereignty, that was ratified by the English Parliament, was binned or ignored following the treaty, and replaced by English parliamentary sovereignty in Scotland. As Scotland’s Lord President Cooper said of it in 1953, it is a totally English concept that has no counterpart in Scottish constitutional law. Professor Mark Weller, former senior legal adviser to the UN would tend to agree with that when he said last year Scotland can have a legal referendum under UN law and it would be accepted and recognized internationally by international law. He went on to say that Johnson’s “once in a generation” is nonsense rhetoric with no legal standing.

It would now seem that Sara Salyer’s and her colleague’s wisdom and perseverance with Salvo is beginning to put the future of England’s unlawful manipulative treatment of Scottish constitutional law into a position where strangers to the truth often find themselves – between a rock and a hard place – with the UN being the rock, and the International Court of Justice at The Hague being the hard place. If you are a supporter of Scottish independence, whether affiliated to a political party or not, you are free to support the dissolution of what Sir Walter Scott called that bastard union, you must support Salvo at salvo.scot. There is a real alternative to a second referendum.

MY COMMENTS

This is indeed a powerful and accurate comment. Scotland is not subject to Westminster sovereignty. It never has been and at last, the false assumption is now being fiercely challenged and exposed. It is Salvo and Liberation that is exposing the fraud that has been imposed on Scots for generations. They are taking the argument onto an International stage. It is a political field where it is the English lie that is being exposed and clear fraud being revealed. Just how much wealth has been extracted from the territory of the nation of Scotland on a completely illegal basis?

I am, as always

YOURS FOR SCOTLAND.

ANNOUNCEMENT

As I am attending an important event in Oban this week I expect to be unable to operate the blog for a few days but will return when I can. . Exact date depends on some of the decisions taken at our planning sessions.

BEAT THE CENSORS

Regretfully there are some among us who seek to censor what others read. Sadly within the YES movement there are sites which claim to be pro Indy but exist to only promote one Party and will not publish articles which come from bloggers who don’t slavishly support that Party to the exclusion of the rest of the YES movement. I ask readers who support free speech to share articles from Yours for Scotland as often as possible as this defeats the effectiveness of the censors.

FREE SUBSCRIPTIONS

Free subscriptions are available on the Home and Blog pages of this site. This allows, for an email of each article to your Inbox and that is now how several thousands get my articles each day. This avoids problems that some have experienced gaining access from Twitter and Facebook. You will be very welcome to choose whatever route works best for you.

SALVO

The work and important development of Salvo has been a beacon of hope in 2022 and as it develops Salvo is creating campaigning hubs throughout Scotland. Salvo will join  with Liberation.Scot and as the campaigning arm of Liberation we are looking at very effective campaigns kicking off very early this year and introducing some new campaigning methods as well as those that have worked well in the past. This requires money so all donations to this site, once the running costs are covered, will go to support the work of Salvo/ Liberation. I think you will see it well used and effective.

LIBERATION.SCOT

We are seeking to build Liberation.Scot to at least 100,000 signatures just as quickly as we can. This is part of our plan to win recognition as an official Liberation Movement via the United Nations. We intend to internationalise our battle to win Independence and through the setting up of our Scottish National Congress will prepare and develop our arguments to win progress in the International Courts. Please help by signing up at Liberation.Scot. It is from those who sign up to Liberation.Scot that the membership of the SNC will be created by ballot.

  1. “The magic spell has five words – England has sovereignty over Scotland. “
It certainly doesn’t help when our elected ‘party of independence’ emphasises the myth along with their lord advocate. Perhaps these individuals should be the first to be brought to task.
Imagine if London claimed that Brussels had the ultimate say over the whether or not the U.K. could leave the EU. People wouldn’t be complaining to the EU, they would be protesting outside Westminster.

    1. And the magic spell to undo this is Scotland is a country in it’s own right and the people are sovereign and not subjects of the English. Remember the story about the elephant in captivity? It had spent so long in chains that when they were broken people wondered why it didn’t leave. It was all to do with mindset you see, and we could say the same for ourselves. We have spent so long believing that we were chained to the Union that all possibilities for being free were questioned, rubbished, argued about, called undemocratic and this was just amongst ourselves and whilst we were doing this opportunists took advantage and hoped we would never realise that we are free if we unite and break the fictional chains that the unicorn has attached to the crown of the UK.

      1. When I was reading the paper in Sacred Scotland in regards to Scotland being debt free and the possible challenges we could face it had me thinking that people get trapped due to fear, fear of loss, fear of threats and what might happen, well I am not sure who it was but they wrote a while back about keeping our heads down and if the worst should happen (I don’t think it will) that we would be OK without French wine and basmalti rice for a while given the fact that we have our own quality produce. The fear of not having money or trade perhaps is where we falter. What if we were the only country in the world in our minds and we didn’t know yet about the other countries what would we do?

    2. The only sovereignty Westminster can ever exert over Scotland is Scotland’s own, because nobody else’s matters. And even that sovereignty is only a delegated one, outranked by the primary sovereignty owned by the Scots themselves, because the only form of Scots sovereignty the Scottish Parliament and Anne Queen of Scots could pass onto the new UK Parliament was their own delegated sovereignty, and they did so without the approval of its true owners.

And like any delegated sovereignty it comes with built-in limits, and its use makes the user accountable to the true owners of the original primary sovereignty. Not only that, even if the Scots themselves had directly agreed the Treaty terms in some form of 18th century referendum, the UKP would still only have a delegated sovereignty, and not our original, because that’s how sovereignty works.

I hope Alex has the strength & endurance to bring Scotland back from this fiasco.

      1. I doubt it. Even a cross party constitutional convention would be a start. One where the basis of indy is a modernised version of the original scottish constitution where politicians can be called to account. Oct23 would be early enough given the mess we are in I think.

  2. You can unlock the prison gates but the conditioned inmates may still remain in their cell awaiting permission to “push open the cell door”.

Who can blame them when the so called “Party of Independence” tells them that they need permission to even have a Referendum.

£45 Billion (at least) was stolen from India. Those who objected were shot, beaten or imprisoned.

The mercenary Army of a Private Company captured India.
That Company ran a drug trade between India and China.
The Royal Navy threatened and attacked China in support of the East India Company.
The World was starting to notice this abuse so the Westminster Government “Nationalised” the Company with an Act of Parliament…..it was all “legal” now. The abuse and theft was legal because London and Queen Victoria said it was.
The theft did not stop. London did not protect India. London did not return Sovereignty to India.
They. Just cut out the middleman and increased their cut.

Then Ghandi arrived and simply refused to accept that he and others were not subjects.

Westminster only has the authority given to it by the Colony.

When Sturgeon speaks of her Gold Standard Referendum she surrenders total power to London. They do not even have to respond. They simply ignore her and the Colony status is maintained.

A thousand years ago our Lairds accepted land in England to betray the people. The price has dropped to that of A UN Post, Westminster Short Money for the SNP and a good pension for Pete.

Sadly we have a Philippe Pétain instead of a Ghandi.

We have a “Leader” who puts Clan against Clan rather than unite them. Creating division ensures regional power…..for her. She is building a CV not a Nation.

A Nation United for a period to elect an SNP majority at Westminster. When the Irish achieved this they never returned. In comparison our horde of Indy politicians were told not to clap at Westminster and they weekly complied.

London told Ghandi he could not make salt…..he did. It is that simple

    2. “She is building a CV not a Nation”.

If, as is strongly rumoured, the FM is seeking alternative employment, then it is customary (essential) that any prospective employer asks her previous employer for a reference that illustrates her competence, her honesty, her record of achievement, her ability to work as a team and to enthuse others to reach the goals set by her employer etc.

However, I do wonder what her current employer will write for her reference, given that she is ultimately accountable to the people of Scotland?

      Liked by 11 people

      1. Would you employ someone who has did this to their own country and the people? The CV doesn’t matter if the truth isn’t written on it unless the place you are going to requires someone who doesn’t deliver what they publicly promised.

      2. “a reference that illustrates her competence”

Yes Arthor49, the British state has/will provide a solid reference for its most loyal servant, the anticipated UN/other international posting surely a deserved reward in return for the act of delaying and preventing Scottish national independence. Such is the Manichaeism nature of colonialism in which a collaborative native elite always play a key role. I hear the FM may begin that post as early as this June which suggests a resignation announcement could be imminent as she may be gone by May, i.e. in a matter of weeks. Cue all the current unionist/msm calls for her resignation, allowing them to claim the credit for her departure – when it is simply all part of thair ain grand scheme!

The independence movement clearly needs a new leader to bring the people and nation to liberation, and that someone is not a Nicola clone who will only take us up more blind alleys. We need someone who is not compromised, who understands what independence means, why it is necessary, and how it can be delivered as a matter of urgency. Only those who have been most persecuted by the oppressor have proven credentials for such a task – Salmond, Murray, yes Sheridan too, and others. These are also the people with the necessary insights and skills who can negotiate real, instead of faux, independence. The people of course may, as they often do, prefer a more socially ‘satisficing’ alternative, e.g. the ‘articulate’ bourgeoisie, which has added risks in any decolonization process.

We should also remember that demographics is now an even more critical factor in our cause because, since 2014, the ‘No’ vote has been maintained and will have increased through ongoing unrestricted in-migration from rest-UK; here, national identity, ‘sense of belonging’, and culture/language remain the central dividing features in the constitutional question. This means that, rather than Holyrood’s ‘local government franchise’, a revised UN-sanctioned franchise applying ‘secondary criteria’ will be necessary to deliver a Yes vote in any national referendum/election; if its guid eneuch fur the French colony of New Caledonia, hit shoud be guid eneuch fur Auld Caledonia.

      3. I totally believe that this sex based carry on was did on purpose to destroy the independence movement because of the timing and coordination of media like Alf has explained further down in his piece. They are now currently posting Lord Ashcroft polls in delight. I think the independence movement has long been infiltrated and I am glad that we have Liberation because although the polls might be telling us one thing, the overall missing information is that people are no longer trusting politicians or political parties and if you speak to local people in the community, each one I have spoken to is that the people think they are out for themselves and don’t work on our behalf at all. So these folk will probably not vote.

Excellent and urgent – rather than seeing our nation die on the (deliberately?) botched plans of this useless FM we should assert the rights we already possess – and kick Bain and Sturgeon oot the windae where they cannot stand up and deny those rights. Surely Sturgeon knows by now that the UK PM is never writing that reference for the UN?

Beware of the organisation making up (in betting parlance) ‘the book’ which to date shows ‘duck eggs’ possibly odds on to replace Sturgeon.

The ‘articulate’ bourgeoisie have long ago proved their worthlessness in securing Scotland for the Scots and we have without doubt the calibre within the persecuted and oppressed of our Nation to take forward the prosecution of our case.

1848 Ireland, all actions to alleviate famine distress were ended by a new Whig administration in London, which pursued a laissez-faire economic doctrine. Yes people died….but they were Irish!

Academic studies by scientists found that the 1943 Bengal famine was not a result of natural causes; it was the product of the policies of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

My feeling is we need to get our message out to the YES groups who support INDEPENDANCE.
The SNP will never achieve what they were elected to do by constantly begging for sect 30 or kidding the voters about de-facto referenda, as there is no such thing in existence. An election is an election and a referendum is a referendum. Going to the wrong court (English) is not the answer either. ENGLISH Law is NOT SCOTS LAW. The SNP do not appear to support Liberation and I wonder Why? Could it be they have their snout in the trough and do not wish to have the trough taken away? Or perhaps they are compromised. They are no closer to obtaining what they were elected to do than on 18th September 2014, In fact by Sturgeon and Blackford and their ilk meekly accepting the English Supreme court Ruling within minutes of the judgement I would suggest they are further away. Worse still they have another opportunity with A Jack trying to Block our Law regarding the Gender Recognition Act. Whether you agree or not with this Scots legislation the English cannot be allowed to do this. Which begs the question:- Which courts is Sturgeon intending to conduct this fight in?
Time to take the fight to Westminster, Time for the Scots Government (SNP) to put up or shut up and stop pretending Freedom is just around the corner!!! Hundreds of thousands of us are wasting our time and energy on this cause, voluntarily. It is time to get on board with Liberations attempt for freedom or meekly accept Scotland’s colonial situation and get on with your life.

Told ye a good few years ago myself and a few others went around the million masked man march in Glasgow speaking to folk and gathering signatures before heading up to the Green for fireworks. Not sure how many years as to be honest I have lost track of time. Point is this once folk know or are told if it’s something they truly believe in then they will eventually drop party loyalty and think of self and country. I seen it for myself that night.

Political parties do however need to convince the folk about their policies. I at the time did support SNP but I wasn’t doing it for them neither were the others.

The Scottish Constitution is ours and not any form or type of English system; the less we say about today’s political circumstances the better… After all, why should sovereign Scottish people act as if they/we are subservient to the very people who are elected politicians? After Scotland regains its independence, the United Kingdom will have ended. The individual nations and areas will be free to do as their people choose to do; with an immediate change to more nations than just Scotland itself!

There’s a clear defining line for what’s revered to as domestic law and that’s the extent of its legal jurisdiction, legal jurisdiction defines a country’s borders, e.g. The border between Scotland and England. Domestic law is limited to those borders and has no standing outside of those borders. Domestic law includes Constitutional law, civil and criminal law.

Sturgeon is to resign, hopefully she’ll take Murrell with her, though there’s no point in her going if she’s to be replaced with the like s of Robertson, Brown or Swinney, maybe she saw the writing on the wall with regards to the police investigation over the 600k, or maybe the e-mails to her from McDonald are very damaging, either way her tenure as FM was mostly a poor one.

  18. And so a new road opens up.

Sturgeon’s announcement has been sudden but not at all unexpected. She has served her handlers have used ger well.

Reflection on her tenure reveals that her blocking and undermining of the road to independence has been no accident. The squandering mandates, the emasculation of branches, the attempted destruction of one of Scotland’s most capable proponents of independence, the deliberate attempt to destroy ALBA and the deliberate policy to deny the electorate an independence super majority through SNP1 and ALBA 2 preferring instead to return a minority SNP government, the absolute focus on unpopular and utterly ill considered policies such GRR, as list goes on and on. No accidents whatsoever.

And now she is going as the remaining party wakes up to an electorate that has lost all faith in her and her clique and her party.

And so with this absolute spoiler gone, we now have the opportunity to move on afresh. Who will come forward, how will we move forward, will consideration be given to collapsing the Scottish Parliament and returning our MPs to form a new people’s authority. With Sturgeon gone the landscape changes,

As for Sturgeon herself history will not be kind to her. A forgotten footnote in Scotland’s history. The history of Scotland will be written without her.

  20. An interesting side note to Sturgeon’s resignation speech was how quite irked she became when she dismissed one of the last questions directed to her about a Police enquiry.

Couldn’t but help think that after years of inaction Police Scotland, might now be poised to levy charges against persons as yet unknown, but persons very much suspected to be close to the departing First Minister.

    My facts are correct…

Scotland is not a special case, its circumstances are simply historically different.
The demission of Sturgeon has thrown all the cards in the air anyway.

    1. Otomanboi, Your facts are completely WRONG. There is no UK Law. Scots law is not domestic. People come from emgland to Scotland to marry at 16 not 18 as in England. Are you saying these marriages are not valid Internationally?? There are too many other examples to mention
Legal verdicts and Company Law and Mortgages. So kindly refrain from talking Scots law and Scotland down.

      1. Not totally wrong about how things operate in practice. Criminal law is a Scots Law preserve. Civil law does seem to be more fuzzy. Companies, for example, may be governed by English Law. https://www.lindsays.co.uk/news-and-insights/news/scottish-court-highlights-need-to-check-for-english-law-and-jurisdiction-clauses
In the days of the British empire it was English law that oversaw and influenced its governance.. English law is the basis of US, Canadian except Québec, Australian etc and also Irish law. Scotland had no part in this. English Law, through the union parliament which is subject to it, has had an influence on Scots Law.
A UK «law» exists by default of written constitution.
I am certainly not «talking Scotland down» in this matter.

a de facto referendum would fail on the terms treacherous Sturgeon imposed; compare and contrast this with the Brexit vote imposed on Scotland
denying a referendum should be a red flag on our democracy – by what right is it denied?

I suspect Salvo are building on all of this to show Scotland is indeed a colony without any meaningful democracy.

Apart from amateur poetry, there’s not much that my political voting could do, and certain politicians forget that they are subservient to us who choose to vote for them… They need to win our votes or fail to be good politicians and won’t be voted for in future. However, these comments are not universally accepted facts – thinking of Westminster for example. Otherwise, as you say: ‘This is our opportunity to push with Salvo and ALBA and the genuine SNP grassroots’ etc… after all, we have very different types of voters living in Scotland and/or England.

  24. Had to go to Oban today as a friend is seriously not very well in the hospital and was surprised to see the old town looking much like I remember the place despite Salvo et al being in town. A straw poll on the ferry and in the hospital and a lot of pro Indy punters are surprised and do not understand why the first minister has done walking away. The other point is that nobody I talked to had ever heard of Salvo so a lot of work to be done. Also nobody had heard of much about the gender debate and the massive cockup of the gender recognition bill so the problem is not that nobody cares but nobody knows. If we are to have a fighting chance at Indy we need to get the facts and arguments out there. I have no idea how to do that so it is over to you the clever buggers in Salvo, liberation etc etc to figure that one out. Hope you are enjoying your trip to the Wild West and more power to your elbow.. Message ends.

  26. O/T though topical – saw a very sensible leadership suggestion for the SNP made on the National:
Have Forbes in Holyrood to look after devolved issues
Have Flynn in Westminster to drive independence

Every argument made in the SC rests upon Holyrood not having the needed powers. As soon as the Westminster MPs for Scotland are denied the right to uphold their mandate this becomes a constitutional crisis, as Thatcher understood only too well. No de facto super majority gubbins is required. This would show with crystal clarity that Scotland has no control over her own democracy – England with her weight of numbers is the only country with democracy within this union. This provides the proof to the international community that we are a colony. Given the drop in support that Sturgeon has triggered this would be better done sooner rather than later.

  27. I’m wondering whether this navel gazing by the SNP, which apparently can’t be done simultaneously with all the fuss and bother of an Indy Conference happening… sigh… should just be seized as the right opportunity to just go full tilt on the Convention of the Estates….

Constitutionally, it’s feet are planted in red sovereignty, so the Convention of the Estates requires nothing from Westminster, and actually, no consent or mandate from anybody. Having our Scottish Constitution under assault is all the justice and legitimacy we need to muster our defence.

Shouldn’t we just be bold, and adopt the “build it, and they will come”, philosophy?

“Member of Parliament” status is not completely irrelevant, because MP’s and MSP’s do have a covenant with the Scottish electorate, but in terms of codified constitution, neither Westminster nor the 1998 Scotland Act can prevent a Scottish MP signing up to a Convention of the Estates, and (arguably), taking their mandate from the people with them. Let Westminster expel them. Bring it on!

I’m not sure we actually “need” the SNP “Government” sitting in Holyrood to part of the Convention of the Estates process, because there is nothing we need from Holyrood. Recognition would be nice, but constitutionally, by ignoring the Claim of Right and bowing to the invalid supremacy of UK Supreme Court, Holyrood has already placed itself in Constitutional No-man’s-land. Holyrood’s coat is on a shoogily peg already…

But if elected MP’s and MSP’s were to join the Convention as private Scottish citizens, and chose to respect the Claim of Right as individuals, I don’t think it would matter whether they did so with, or without, approval from Holyrood. Neither case, approved or condemned, would undermine the integrity of the Convention of the Estates.

Give notice that the Convention of the Estates is being set up, and invite all sitting MP’s to be part of it. If they come along, the Convention is enhanced by their participation, but the Convention is going ahead regardless, with or without their participation.

The “office” of First Minister is a construct of the Scotland Act I believe. The status is contentious because the office carries no standing or codification under the Claim of Right. Indeed, if Holyrood was to condemn or sanction any MSP who joined in with the Convention of the Estates, we’d have yet another constitutional flashpoint to add to the dossier. May they be that stupid… Bring it on!

    Set up the Convention.
Build it, and they will come.
Build it, and see who comes, and see what else they bring with them.

The purpose of the Convention is not to govern, but to test Westminster’s entitlement to govern Scotland, and resolve the UK’s long standing but anomalous and irregular unwritten Constitution… And hopefully, test it to destruction.

Rather than seek Holyrood’s consent, perhaps the Convention of the Estates should be more bullish, and require Holyrood to swear an oath of fealty to the Claim of Right, to resonate with that of King Charles III…

    Liked by 6 people

    1. If bullish works for that, then why stop there? Perhaps the Convention could assign additional powers to the Scottish Parliament, such as holding an entirely Scottish-built and mandated referendum based on the authority of the sovereign Scots themselves under Scots law and constitution, or perhaps even more simply, just require the SP to run it for the Convention on its behalf. Since the people are sovereign there can be no real argument that the topics of the Constitution and/or the Union being reserved to Westminster must apply to the sovereign Scots themselves as well as to Holyrood.

If Westminster disagrees then that becomes a direct confrontation between the two sovereignties, and the Supreme Court doesn’t get a look-in, conflict of interest, inadequate competence, and all that, and even if it tried, the autochthonous sovereignty of the Scots in their own Kingdom must by definition outrank Westminster’s delegated sovereignty over Scotland, as it cannot have acquired any level of sovereignty from the Treaty higher than or even equal to that of the Scots’ own, without wringing out all meaning from the word. In this scenario, any sovereignty based outside Scotland has to be a non-starter.

Any legal argument then becomes one of which of two sovereign masters is the Scottish Parliament obliged to obey. The answer is both, but one of those masters has a higher rank of sovereignty than the other, and the Scottish Parliament must bow to the higher rank, and especially so since it’s sitting in that one’s Kingdom.

  28. The next SNP leader will be hand picked by Sturgeon and Murrell and there’s nothing that can be done about it because the NEC says what the rules are. The SNP are finished as a trustworthy party, we must now put all our energy into Alba.

“I’ve been contacted by a lawyer who has been checking the SNP constitution this morning. And here’s the problem – in an earlier round of abandoning SNP democracy the constitution was amended to enable the NEC to rewrite the constitution at will. It is hard to tell from the current mess of constitution what is actually legal or not – but then it doesn’t make much difference because the NEC can just change it until it says what they want it to say. That may mean that legal routes (such as an interdict) will fail, making it even more important there is a mass outcry. And to my many friends in the SNP, understand this – if the NEC of an organisation can rewrite the constitution at will, you don’t have a constitution, you become an entity wholly governed by your NEC. In that world nothing is ever against the rules unless the NEC wants it to be against the rules. It turns out that even I forgot how bad SNP ‘democracy’ had become.”

Murrel and the NEC seem to have the party stitched up with their various rule changes and has created a party in his own image and I don’t mean short and balding but corrupt and as bent as a three pound note. The only people that can stop him are the current party members if any off them can scare up a spine and or a pair of bollocks. If they can’t stop him and the rest of the Bisto kids then the only thing to do is to give it the treatment we gave to Scottish Labour and bury it. As far as this household goes the SNP are dead. So over to you Salvo, Alba etc

      1. I think it was engineered that way….the timing was obviously planned to continue business as usual.
Mike Russell, Angus Robertson are currently busy trying to guide the remaining sheep into the selected pen.
The election timescale and the inference by Mhairi Black that any move away from Gender Ideology is a move to the Right are a smokescreen.
My view is that the well is poisoned. Even if Ash Regan or Kate Forbes did get elected they would face constant attack from the Sturgeon rearguard.
The SNP Vichy Government are finished. Perhaps now we can move on to Independence.

Today Mike Russell is braying that there is no missing £600,000. However he offers no explanation. It may not have been stolen and merely spent on Day to day SNP operating costs. He misses the point badly. For me digging into a ring fenced fund sourced from those across the YES movement. is in many ways, worse than fraud. Using that money from the “little people” gives a window into how far the SNP have fallen.

No leader can save what remains.

There are strong indications it has slumped and that the figure of 100,000 constantly mentioned by the cult is a figment of their imagination. Reports of numbers at branch meetings across the country suggest they are back to pre 2014 levels or worse.

      3. They are trying to present as if this is just normal procedure – if a bit unexpected by most. However, there is nothing normal about what has been taking place within the SNP for the past 8 or 9 years. A definition of “normal” is “Usual, Typical or Routine” and I doubt that the last few years and particularly the last few days has been anything but “normal”!

The SNP leadership has illustrated exactly how to destroy a once democratic political party and poison the well for those who may try to blow on the the dying embers. The SNP will never reach the heights it once enjoyed and in fact, will be lucky to survive in any format when the revelations surrounding the real reasons for abandoning her position as FM become known to the public.

The people for whom I have most sympathy in this mess are those SNP members who over decades have believed in it being the only vehicle for independence and committed so much of their time, energy, and money to advancing that great cause only to see it dissolve before their eyes.

Fortunately, much of this had been foreseen by a few and they have already begun to look at an alternative route to self-determination and are now well on the way to finalising that alternative and on this blog, I have no need to go further.

However, with the events of the past few days, the preparations for that alternative route needs to go into overdrive and that was the purpose of this week’s Oban Summit, the results of which will become known to all.

That means redoubling our efforts to educate the Scottish population about the way forward and encouraging those who are disaffected by what is going on within the SNP and also those, like myself, who were enthused by the investigation and research undertaken by Sara Salyers and the message of Salvo to join us and sign up to LiberationScot.
