FAITHS UNITED BY HUMZA YOUSAF

The Indian Council of Scotland and the United Kingdom, along with the Muslim Council of the United Kingdom, have this morning issued an extraordinary joint statement regarding their serious concerns about the SNP leadership contest.

The Indian community in Scotland would live in fear if Humza Yousaf becomes First Minister.

Neil Lal, Chairman and President of The Indian Council, stated:

“We as a community do not feel safe with Humza Yousaf as the First Minister in Scotland. The Indian community – which is a community of all faiths that includes Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, and Judaism – would not feel safe with Humza Yousaf as First Minister.

Our community is law-abiding, hard-working, and proud of our country. Humza Yousaf attacked a nursery publicly and has now walked away without apology. Surely, his integrity must be called into question? He stoked up racial tensions in the Indian Hindu community, and this is not acceptable.”

The Indian community of all faiths live in fear, dreading his becoming First Minister. Many of the Indian community are now thinking of moving out of Scotland should it happen, as he also has been economical with the truth in the past.

Humza Yousaf has been incompetent in every role that he served in from Justice to Transport and now Health. If he was the First Minister, it would be an economic disaster for Scotland. How can we have such a person as First Minister?

Mr Wasif Ahmad, Chairman of The Muslim Council of the UK, stated:

“Humza Yousaf is not the right person for the role. We trust Ash Regan or Kate Forbes as First Minister and urge people to vote for one of them, who would heal the damage and be better for Scotland. Humza Yousaf is not competent. We stand with the Indian community and agree with their concerns.”

We call for Humza Yousaf to be asked the same questions as Kate Forbes:

1. Are trans women women?

2. Are children outside marriage allowed?

3. Is sex before marriage allowed?

Anything less is giving Humza Yousaf more favourable treatment in the SNP leadership contest and treating the women candidates of different beliefs at a disadvantage.”

Neil Lal further stated:

“Scotland is at a major crossroads and if Humza Yousaf becomes the First Minister then this will ruin Scotland economically as there will a flight to safety with businesses, wealth and the intellectual capital moving south of the border and elsewhere. Scotland will suffer a brain drain. This is already happening and now will accelerate.

We have approached Humza many times to sit to discuss and address our concerns in the past, but neither he nor Nicola Sturgeon have been approachable. Other political leaders of many parties, including Keir Starmer, Anas Sarwar, Alex Salmond, Arlene Foster and Willie Rennie, have all listened to the concerns of the community in working for the betterment of the country, showing the difference in respect and maturity that these politicians have.

We challenge Humza Yousaf that if he believes in democracy and if he believes the First Minister should represent everyone, he should show some humanity, humility, and maturity and apologise for his previous actions.”

MY COMMENTS

Congratulations on these bodies asking these questions and seeking fairness and decency in this electoral contest. The SNP leadership these days has completely lost their moral compass and provide a home for those whose intention is to destroy traditional family values. They need to run a fair and open contest and end the manipulation and dishonesty that has become their hallmark. Here is something concrete for the BBC and the rest of the media to get their teeth into. Will they?

I am, as always

BEAT THE CENSORS

Regretfully there are some among us who seek to censor what others read. Sadly within the YES movement there are sites which claim to be pro Indy but exist to only promote one Party and will not publish articles which come from bloggers who don’t slavishly support that Party to the exclusion of the rest of the YES movement. I ask readers who support free speech to share articles from Yours for Scotland as often as possible as this defeats the effectiveness of the censors.

FREE SUBSCRIPTIONS

Free subscriptions are available on the Home and Blog pages of this site. This allows, for an email of each article to your Inbox and that is now how several thousands get my articles each day. This avoids problems that some have experienced gaining access from Twitter and Facebook. You will be very welcome to choose whatever route works best for you.

SALVO

The work and important development of Salvo has been a beacon of hope in 2022 and as it develops Salvo is creating campaigning hubs throughout Scotland. Salvo will join  with Liberation.Scot and as the campaigning arm of Liberation we are looking at very effective campaigns kicking off very early this year and introducing some new campaigning methods as well as those that have worked well in the past. This requires money so all donations to this site, once the running costs are covered, will go to support the work of Salvo/ Liberation. I think you will see it well used and effective.

LIBERATION.SCOT

We are seeking to build Liberation.Scot to at least 100,000 signatures just as quickly as we can. This is part of our plan to win recognition as an official Liberation Movement via the United Nations. We intend to internationalise our battle to win Independence and through the setting up of our Scottish National Congress will prepare and develop our arguments to win progress in the International Courts. Please help by signing up at Liberation.Scot. It is from those who sign up to Liberation.Scot that the membership of the SNC will be created by ballot.

    1. Yusuf is not only a fool, he’s an incompetent fool. We used to have Bashir Ahmad as a minister. He was competent, respectable and commanded great respect. He was light years ahead of Humza Yusuf.

  1. Why? Why is Yousaf scaring Indians? He may be of Pakistani origins but who apart from these Indians is concerned. The politics of the sub continent do not apply here. To me this shows bigotry against Yousaf. A disgrace. Go to England then if your bigotry is so strong.
Regarding the odd morale compass of the SNP I agree. In fact it has dropped for society as a whole over the years on a range of issues.

    1. Humza has chased down a nursery that was owned by Indians. Odd behavior – would he have pursued a Pakistani owned nursery? I don’t know but I hesitate to write off concerns.

      1. It was because the nursery was being racist against a coloured child. This was proven.

    2. I think you miss the point. It is not about Indian/Pakistani issues in the sub continent. It’s about his arrogance in not even meeting their Council to discuss the issues they have.
Humza has played the race card on a number of occasions. He did ‘attack’ the nursery then walked away from the issue. He has an air of entitlement and Gail’s to accept constructive criticism. Nobody, not even the most die hard SNP member, thinks he has handled his jobs competently. Promoted beyond his capacity springs to mind.
When asked about GRR and his position, he never answered and turned it into the position of the UK government attacking democracy.
Now that Robertson has looked in the cupboard and decided not to stand, Humza is the chosen GRR torch bearer to challenge the UK in court. The SNP politicians are making this about GRR and not Independence. Some withdrawing their support from Kate after distorted MSM coverage says it all. When you have some MP asking for a vision of Independence for 2050, sums it up.
However, let’s be nifty for twenty fifty, doesn’t have the appeal the real Independence supporters want to hear!

  2. Some thoughts on the questions here:
    1. Are trans women women?
They can get prostate cancer so a question for Lux: either trans women should be excluded from screening/treatment or they are biologically male. Which one is it?

    2. Are children outside marriage allowed?
Forbes said she celebrated children born outside marriage – it was her personal faith based choice not to go that way.

    3. Is sex before marriage allowed?
Again Forbes did not condemn this but said her own faith based choice was not to go this way.

The MSM reporting is bordering on propaganda. The MSM and Sturgeon are plugging Humza and trashing Forbes. Their stance on independence is known to us …

  3. This is getting out of hand. It’s ridiculous that if Prime Minister or First Minister resigns that the country doesn’t get to vote rather than party otherwise we will have a selected not elected by the whole country FM just like the PM. A wee membership of folk are getting to decide for everyone else. Personally job performance should be highlighted if we are being fair and honest. Thank goodness for liberation because otherwise it’s looking like a shit show where we have media bias, selected candidates and a small percentage of people voting for something that has an impact upon us all.

      1. If I could vote, I wouldn’t vote for Humza based upon his prior roles and the one time I asked him a question via social media he responded very defensive for asking a question about equal pay. The hate crime bill wasn’t popular either and didn’t include women. I do think though just as Craig has said just because we don’t want someone as FM we should still be honest when truth emerges such as this post and also point out the truth about the origins and associations of the persons issuing the statements. We need to always be fair and honest.

What is wrong with having an honest lady who answers questions honestly as our First Minister?? irrespective of her religious beliefs. Those Snp MPs who withdrew their support for honesty instead of political expediency should resign as they are supporting liars and self serving fools. HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. I hope Ash Regan is also an honest woman. Lets see her grilled the same as Kate Forbes.

  6. I guess none of this should surprise us. We know the SNP has been taken over by trans activists – the nuSNP does not want independence. Forbes is not nuSNP – the is the grassroots versus entryists fight that was always going to happen. Sturgeons mate, Redactor John, knows not to let members re join for the vote. If Sturgeon passes the torch of trans activism then we need to take the SNP out of the YES loop. The next election will be a blood bath and the unionists will gain control of Holyrood – hence the MSM frenzy to put Humza in post. There is a lot at stake.

Because of racial prejudice they fled from England and settled here in Scotland. They came here because they thought that Scottish people were (mostly) fair minded. They have lived in peace here for over twenty years, contributing much to the community.

I would hate to think that they now feel threatened here too, because of one ignorant stupid man like Humza Yousaf. I want them to stay here where they are liked and happy.

    1. Identity politics in my opinion is causing trouble not just here but in many places, it’s almost like it’s been coordinated. Look at the current Kate Forbes scenario playing out backed by a few politicians and I think that in itself is dodgy and
causing distraction. I think that if you are not doing a good job, you didn’t achieve what you were elected to do within a reasonable timescale (8-9 years too long) then doesn’t matter who ye sleep with, unless yer a pervert or child abuser(then it matters) your religion, skin colour, your sex then you should be called out based upon the failings of the people and country and be held accountable and questioned why you didn’t deliver then judged. Now we are seeing some SNP coming out with for example Stewart McDonald’s video for his vision for independence in 2050. So the question we have before us is this, what are we going to do about it?

Watching this video is a bit like going into the past and looking at what became of the Labour party after 2014 Referendum, you can now see this is what is going to happen to the SNP. What we have here is vote for me because I say I want Independence, but I’m going to do nothing to achieve independence, but just keep voting for me while I keep promoting the cause of Independence. It’s funny how before 2014 the Indy poll had us on 26% but no one in the SNP was saying we can’t have a referendum until we get the public support for Independence to be at least 50%. We have had 8yrs of vote for me and for my security in parliament. Now the polls have Scotland Independence vote on 50% the benchmark of 26% that was set before the 2014 referendum has now changed.

I’d like to say that over the last 8yrs at least 5% people who said “NO” at the last Independence referendum, will now vote “YES”. Unless we have a political party whole heartedly are willing to defy the UKG instead of trying to make Westminster work for Scotland we as a people will never be free and we will never get back into the EU. I’m afraid with the SNP what you see them do on Independence is all they will ever do, prevaricate.

I watch this video and I thought for f*ck’s sake what’s the point in voting for a party who for 90yrs has no idea how to actually achieve Independence for Scotland, with the exception of the few years Alex Salmond was their leader and first minister.

Our vehicle to Independence will never come from the SNP. I don’t believe they know what to do or where to go on the subject. I’m depressed with our politians and their stance on this very important subject which seems to always be an afterthought.

For me it isn’t good enough for our elected Politian’s just to say “Westminster can’t deny democracy” but Westminster is denying democracy but our elected Politian’s are just accepting it and then carrying on playing by the British rule book, who side are they on.

  9. One last shot. The politics of the SubContinent inevitably informs this «discourse». Modi’s régime scapegoats Muslims for narrow nationalist and racist purposes. He has jumped on the Muslim=terrorism bandwagon with sadly international tacit support. His agenda is ultimately «removing» the 173 millions Muslims from the republic of India to complete the partition the British encouraged. He sees them as Mughal invaders who have despoiled Bharat with their palaces, mosques and Urdu culture.
There is a militant Hinduism ie Hindutva around which receives considerably less coverage than the Islamic variety. Although no fan, Mr Yousaf deserves better than this none too subtle name calling of questionable provenance.
Welcome Scotland to the messy, complex world beyond Gretna.

    1. I’m no fan of Modi but this is Scotland, not India, and any council, Indian or otherwise, must be able to access their political representatives here. I would expect a Hindu FM/MSP to e accessible to a Islamic council. Humza will not engage with this council and he does need to explain this.

Syria for example is said to have some Muslims working to help create the idea of that said Map, it’s too long and complicated and not really for this blog but recently the earthquake that’s killed many might bring everything into perspective and people might realise that we are human beings and all this war and destruction is not making people happy anywhere. But don’t think there’s not Muslims who don’t support British or American ideas because they might have been promised something. 1. In fact I could tell you one other thing about Turkiye in regards to being secular and my time there I was never asked about religion not even once. Invited once to the mosque in the restaurant before dinner if I wanted to pray with my ex partner’s mum and he said to her no she doesn’t do religion. I found myself feeling safe even walking along the wee markets at night and had nae reason ever to feel under threat. Obviously being me a few guys might have found me not being what they might have been used to haha fiesty Scottish woman. One wealthy guy I knew once telt me to get him an ashtray and I told him naw, get off yer ass and get it yer self, also when he tried belittle someone I looked him right in the eyes and said something about I knew what he had done previously sort of thing and he was like fecking Scottish women. 😉 😄 It’s just a wee cultural thing that ye get to know and I enjoyed sitting with the guys listening to their opinions and things, having a wee laugh and listening to different perspectives so kinda have a better understanding for it. They have rules and laws and as a guest yer expected to follow them and not turn it into the country ye came fae. I only say something when I see articles like that in the said newspaper because as much as I love the country and even if I had still been with ma partner, I wouldn’t ever go against ma own country for anyone and I would call out anyone else out who tried it as I did to a Turkish guy living in Scotland a few years ago when he was making political posts in favour of the UK and I pointed out the political rules of Turkiye to him should he hae forgotten his auld arse fae he got a new one. Turkiye is one of the better countries in terms of people no caring about yer religion or colour and improving for women than say for example perhaps Pakistan.

  12. This is an 18 min youtube by David Robertson, former Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland, and currently working in Australia. He was asked to take part in a BBC WORLD TONIGHT radio programme discussing how Kate Forbes was being treated in the SNP leadership contest. In this YouTube David talks about how the interview went and lets us hear it, but also (both as a Christian himself and a presently ex-pat Scot) voices his alarm at the vindictiveness Kate is having to endure from the SNP establishment and from the media.

He speaks for more than we imagine, more than we are led to believe.

The Sodom and Gomorah of Sturgeon’s SNP will fall. It is already falling as electoral support plummets.

Honesty, independence, addressing falling living standards, fixing a failing NHS, that is what we want. Not these gender bender, pervert charter policies, that have become the SNP’s reason for existence.

    1. I hope so. It used to be that MPs/MSPs would vote according to their own conscience – outside of the collective responsibility of cabinet anyway. Then everyone respected the democratic outcome. The idea was that these were patriots of good conscience and their debate would improve the final outcome. Now we have an entire parliament made up of collective nodding donkeys – what is the point of them? For the nuSNP we could have a cardboard cutout of Sturgeon on every seat, double her salary and can the rest of them – it would save a fortune.

I would love our Ukrainian neighbours to be able to return home and would miss them if they did but as they are from Mariupol not going to happen anytime soon. If the West had been a bit more forceful when Putin pinched Crimea we could have avoided this. For all those that try to excuse Putin I refer you to how the independent journalist John Sweeney ends his war diary as one of the few who has and continues to cover the conflict. Do f–k off.

    1. ….and Putin’s “3 day war” was an invasion, only designed to bring Zelensky to the negotiation table and get him to concede to NOT joining Nato. And Zelensky agreed. However he was subsequently told by his military junta that if he did concede to talks with Russia, he would be found hanging from a tree!
And of course, very soon after, Boris Johnson visited Zelensky and Zelensky changed his mind.
Putin only recently declared ,what we understand to be a war, with 3 main objectives.
      1. The demilitarisation of Ukraine.
      2. The denatzification of Ukraine.
      3. Ukraine to remain neutral.

750,000 Russians are now massed in the south, waiting for a signal to advance. Ukraine has less than 200.000 poorly trained soldiers, made up with conscripted 16 year-old boys and men over the age of 60 .

  17. Hi Iain.
With respect, I never said Russia would smash any opposition. That was clearly, not their intention last March.
What I did say in my earlier post is, that the initial invasion into Ukraine by Russia was designed to bring Ukraine to the negotiating table for peace talks. However, since Biden and Boris scuppered any hopes of peace negotiations, Russia has developed a new strategy, now.
Russia has always been entitled to demand security near it’s borders. To suggest otherwise would be ridiculous.
Like me, you’re old enough to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis and how JFK had to recognise Russia’s legitimate concerns over Nato’s expansion, eastwards in Europe, in order to remove the threat of missiles on Cuba.
So what’s changed now, when Nato intends to break their promise and encircle Russia in the Black Sea?
I wonder what the US would say and do, if Mexico wanted to station nuclear missiles on the border between their two countries?
    I’m sure I know the answer….
